Biography

Tom Ahmed is a Registered Physical Therapist who has graduated from Queen?s University in M.Sc. PT.

Having earned two degrees in H.B.Sc. Biomedical Sciences and Kinesiology from Ottawa prior, Tom continues education at uOttawa: PhD in Rehabilitation Sciences, alongside interdisciplinary teams at various academic hospitals, advocating for better health after total hip and knee surgeries, by improving understanding of psychological factors influencing post-operative recovery such as anxiety, depression, resilience, and more.

He treats a wide array of conditions ranging from a variety of musculoskeletal injuries, chronic pain conditions, jaw (TMJ) issues, concussion, and vestibular challenges.

With an ongoing pursuit of lifelong learning, Tom aims to bring evidence-based and clinically sound techniques and practices to his patients, to optimize function, wellness, and greater quality of life, with efficiency by offering: Functional Dry Needling (FDN), Acupuncture, Gua Sha, Cupping, spinal manipulations, McKenzie low back pain management strategies in clinical practice, Modern Manual Therapy (MMT) Eclectic Approach plus MMT Strength and Conditioning in clinical rehabilitation, and more!

In his spare time, Tom enjoys running ultramarathons, and pursuing weightlifting, calisthenics, cycling and swimming. Tom also loves playing acoustic guitar, singing, riding motorcycles, practicing amateur martial arts, and continues to engage in his decade long passion of body and breath awareness meditation, mixed with contemplative writing during long trail runs in nature. His love for movement has led to a wealth of wellness that he enjoys sharing with his patients.

His passion in clinical practice lies in cultivating therapeutic relationships with his patients, that are built on trust, rapport, and genuine connection, all to advocate for each person?s individualized needs and desires.
